“Really great Mexican food!! Came here with my fiance and his family and we had so much fun! The margs are SO GOOD — definitely up there for best marg I've had. Our menu is focused on authentic dishes made with fresh ingredients that we prepare every day. Whether you’re craving a traditional mole enchilada, vegan chimichanga, or a plate of gluten-free Carne al Carbon, there’s a seat at our table for you. We’ve been serving Logan Square’s best huachinango since the 1970s, and you can still get a plate today. We make the real thing—that’s the way it’s always been.

El Cid is a family-owned and operated Mexican Restaurant with immigrant roots. We opened El Cid because we wanted to bring an authentic food experience to our community. We wanted to create a space where you can stop in for a hand-crafted margarita before a night out on the town or bring the whole family in for dinner in a space that’s welcoming and friendly. Our decades in Logan Square, vibrant decor, backyard patio, and fresh ingredients all help tell the story of our neighborhood and El Cid. Everything on our menu—from homemade horchata to hearty carnitas taco trays—is available for your meeting, shower, party or event. Your meal will be made from traditional family recipes and can be prepared for pick-up or for delivery straight to the venue of your gathering. Parties of 30-50 guests can enjoy a fresh, scratch-made buffet in our private lounge any day of the week—and we can make almost anything vegetarian, gluten free or both. Whether you need carafes of piping hot coffee for a brunch meeting or a full service bar slinging frozen tamarind margaritas (or lime on the rocks), we’ve got you covered.
